The Tollgate

Situated on the A46, three miles south of junction 18 on the M4, and six miles north of Bath, The Tollgate is in an elevated position with panoramic views across Bristol, the Severn and to the Welsh Hills. The listed building was an old Turnpike.

The Tollgate is a Tearoom and Kitchen, customers can choose to sit in the cosy Tearoom with its wood burning stove which forms part of this listed building, or in the Victorian conservatory with its stunning scenery. We have tables in both the front and rear gardens all year round which are used by walkers, their dogs and cyclists. Our resident Shetland ponies Honey and Bumble watch over you in the rear paddock, carrots are available on request if you would like to treat them.

We serve traditional food all day, opening at 8am for breakfast (9am on weekends), followed by lunch and afternoon tea. All of our food is made on the premises from locally sourced ingredients. Have a read through our menus and call ahead for our daily specials or any requests.

We look forward to meeting you!
